An opening reception was held Friday evening for Suffolk County Historical Society’s much-anticipated 9/11 Memorial Exhibit.
Aside from an array of photos, paintings and sculptures all having to do with Sept. 11, visitors were able to view a 30-minute video called “We Will Never Forget,” which was of oral histories from seven people recalling their experiences of 9/11, and other displays. The art show is the first ever collaboration between the historical society and Riverhead Free Library in the library’s 115-year and the Riverhead-based historical society’s 125-year history.
It will be on exhibit through Oct. 1.
