George Meyer
George Meyer of Ridge died Monday. He was 91.
Born in Elmhurst, N.Y., he was the son of the late William and Rose (Weiler) Meyer.
He served during World War II, as a member of the U.S. Army. He was enlisted from July 1941 to August 1946.
He subsequently worked in New York City as a professional engineer.
Mr. Meyer was predeceased by his wife, Florence S. Meyer, and a brother, William Meyer.
He is survived by his daughter, Janet Arbucci of Bronxville, and his son, Thomas Meyer of St. Petersburg, Fla.
Additionally, he is survived by a sister, Rose Banakus of Uniondale, N.Y., five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation hours are Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Rocky Point Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at Rocky Point Funeral Home, followed by interment at Calverton National Cemetery.
