Two people injured in Rocky Point Road crash
Two people were rushed to the hospital shortly after 5:30 p.m. Wednesday after a two-car collision on Rocky Point Road in Rocky Point.
A man driving a Volkswagon Jetta was traveling southbound when it rear-ended a Toyota 4Runner, officials said from the scene. Both drivers were transported to Mather Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. Both cars sustained minor damage.
Rocky Point Road remained open as of 6 p.m.
“Both vehicles were moved off by the PD so we didn’t have to shut down the road,” said Bill Nevin, second assistant chief at the Middle Island Fire Department.
Six firefighters and two emergency medical technicians from the Middle Island Fire Department responded to the scene.
